What this is
Connecticut Roofing Guide is an independent directory covering 193 roofing contractor businesses across Connecticut. It’s built for homeowners trying to shortlist a roofer without wading through pages of ads or guessing which five-star rating is real. Every business on the site gets the same treatment: pulled from public business records, scored the same way, and refreshed on the same schedule.
How a listing gets built
We start with public business data (name, address, license and contact details where available) and layer on a synthesis of recent Google reviews for that business. We don’t republish review text, quote reviewers, or copy star graphics. Instead we summarize what the recent review pattern says and link out to the business’s Google listing so you can read the source reviews yourself.
How rankings work
Rankings come from a published rubric and data only, never from who’s paying us. The scoring method weighs review sentiment, star rating, review volume, how recent the reviews are, and how complete the listing is, with a statistical adjustment so a brand-new business with three glowing reviews can’t leapfrog an established contractor with a long track record. A business can request corrections to its own facts (address, phone number, services offered, licensing details) if something’s wrong or out of date. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or position in the rankings. Those come from the rubric applied to the data, and that stays out of any single listing’s hands.
Sponsorship, and what we actually do
Some pages carry a placement clearly labelled “Sponsored,” shown apart from the earned ranking, not inserted into it. Paying for that placement never changes a business’s score or where it lands in the ranked list.
Connecticut Roofing Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for doing so. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings; the quote page explains this in more detail.
Who runs it
This directory is published by True Level Media, which has run independent roofing directories since 2026 and applies the same rubric and monthly refresh cycle across the trades it covers. True Level Media also runs lead-generation sites in some trades, but client status on those sites has no bearing on scores or rankings here. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Dana Whitfield, Editor. Listings are verified and refreshed monthly, closed businesses are removed, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see it’s actively maintained rather than left to rot.

- Can a roofing business pay to rank higher?
- No. Paid placements are labelled "Sponsored" and shown separately from the ranked list. They don't change a business's score or its earned position.
- Do you publish full review text from Google?
- No. We synthesize what recent reviews say about a business and link out to its Google listing so you can read the original reviews there.
- Can a business change its own ranking?
